About Craig Meyer
Craig Meyer is a professional fine art photographer based in Carlsbad, California. A Southern California native, Craig grew up in the coastal communities of Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach before heading to Arizona State University. After 25 years in Arizona, he and his wife returned to the San Diego area, drawn by family connections, the surf culture, and the unparalleled beauty of the Southern California coast.
Craig first picked up a camera in 2011 during his career in real estate, creating marketing content that quickly evolved into video production. His work soon expanded into B-roll footage, capturing the essence of properties and landscapes, and eventually, this creative journey led him to fine art photography. Over time, his passion for visual storytelling deepened, and photography became more than a tool—it became his artistic calling.
In 2020, Craig and his wife embarked on a five-month cross-country RV journey, capturing the awe-inspiring landscapes of 14 states and many of America’s most beloved national parks. This adventure solidified his commitment to preserving fleeting moments in nature through his art.
His work is featured in local galleries and shops. Craig’s goal is to continue refining his craft, earning recognition as an award-winning landscape photographer while traveling to new destinations that inspire his work.
Beyond photography, Craig enjoys bodyboarding, auto racing, and spending time with his family. His favorite local spots include Carlsbad Village and Downtown Encinitas, where the vibrant beach culture continues to fuel his creative inspiration.
Craig’s photography is available for purchase through art shows, festivals, and online. Explore his work at craigameyerphotography.com and follow his journey on Instagram: @craig_a_meyer_photography.
